Mike "The Kitman" and Model Railways

Interests
From childhood, I had a keen interest in model railways, which upon leaving school died away for a time, but then in 1983, my former interest became my passionate hobby. Since then, I have developed and practiced my model maing skills and from around 1989, my hobby became a full time business and still is.

    The Kitman Studios

Here at my studio, I construct model locomotives, carriages and wagons in 4mm and 7 mm scales. ALL omy work is assured perfection and the price I quote you at the outset is the price you pay. I work very closely with The Kit Connection and am proud to say that in little over 30 years of professional model making I have received only compliments and and many word of mouth recommendations from my many clients world wide.

Check out the websites at www.thekitmanuk.co.uk and www.thekitconnection.com   where you will discover just who we are and what we have to offer.

The pictured locomotives for sale are all constructed from kits with a wealth of additional detail. All are brand new, test run only and are in pristine condition.  Some of the photos show locomotives in primer grey only due to there being variations in period livery, numbering and lining detail,  i.e. Midland - LMS - BR.  etc...  These also are offered for sale and the prices shown include full custom livery painting and lining out  as desired by the purchaser. If you would like a full description of the model, i.e. type of chassis, motor gear ratio etc. then please email me at thekitmanuk.co.uk@live.co.uk and I will get back to you promptly.

As well as completed locomotives I have a number of unbuilt locomotive kits for sale and prices can be found in my second album.

I also undertake repaints and restoration work on kitbuilt and ready-to-run models, whether white metal, etched or plastic. Use my online "Contact Us" form to receive a firm quotation.  For sales and general enquiries, why not email me at: thekitmanuk.co.uk@live.co.uk

You may also be interested to view stills photos of an extensive 4mm sacle, exhibition standard layout which I had the honour and pleasure of being team leader and principal model maker during the past 3 years or so, working along side others in creating probably the largest, 4mm scale BRITISH RAILWAYS outline exhibition layout in Spain. It measures approximately 25 metres in length and 4 metres in width. Up to 26 trains can work on this system which requires at least FOUR competent operators to mann it.  As you see from the  photos, there is still much more work to be done but sadly, the whole layout is presently in storage as we desperately seek out a new venue to be its permanent home, open to the public ALL THE YEAR ROUND or reluctantly we will be forced to offer it for sale as it is now.  It is portable, consisting of 27 sections of various lengths, all of which are 1.3 metres in width. It takes approx. 10 working days to errect and prepare for full operations so weekend shows are not  even given a second  consideration. We have a short video clip on "YouTube" narrated by a news reporter who visited the exhibition when it first opened in November 2007. Go to "YouTube" and enter, "Train to Catral" in the search box.

see  "The Fourmills Model Railway" album in this site and visit www.schoolmodelrailwaysspain.com In the school, we teach and instruct on ALL aspects of railway modelling and model making. Our modules are not strictly adhered to as presented but are given as a comprehensive guide as to the subject matter offered to the student.
